database security

Posted by Pawan at July 08. 2008

Hi,

There are two instances A and B on same linux server under A and B users respectively.

I create one more user C on same linux server.

1. After creating user C is there anthing required to add for accessing db2? which type permissions required if?

2. I want to access databases under instances A and B by user C? How?

3. I want to give only select privileges to this User C for databases running under instances A and B? How?

Please reply ASAP......waiting.........

Thanks & Regards

Pawan

I am not sure whether you got the response for this one or not, but here it is:

1. you have to add db2profile in the .profile of this new user C

2. You will have to catalog the databases for instance A and B

3. you can grant privileges for select only to user C for db running on A and B by using the GRANT command.
